They are the manually selected double reduction hubs, you turned the two ‘bobbins’ on them with a tommy bar.

Just noticed the picture I posted of Septimus Cook lorry had the number plate which started SPT just wondering if that was intentional or a fluke as today many companies have initials on purchased plates for there trucks, Buzzer

It had occurred to me it may have been used to carry hanging clothes, ie, dry cleaners, laundry perhaps…

Like those Pinches shots, Reminds me of the days we used to cross paths at Sainsbury Supermarkets
when i was driving for Salvesen out of Droitwich Spa,
Most of them had names across the front, ‘Italian Stallion’. The Undertaker’,
Story as it that Mr Sainsbury did not like it, wrong image, …
