A AEC Matador doing what the Gods invented Matadors for.
Pottering about with trees in mud, wreathed in wood smoke.

Got to admit I hadn’t noticed that angle box on the transporter or I would have thought twice about the date of the photo, thanks for Pointing it out.

That is Elliots, they were based on the old airfield at Rufforth.

Pete.

I watched a program just yesterday about the last Tram to run in Glasgow early 60’s. It showed a Tram being taken to a museum by one of Elliott’s of York Scammell Highwayman and lowloader, the unit had the same writing along the back of the cab roof. The LAD cab was also launched at the 1958 Comm Motor Show just before the Ford Anglia appeared so does put that photo around 1959 to early 60’s. Franky.

Hi Dan. Merc’s looking nice. Looks as if you have an increased workload, your fleet is growing.
Always good to see hard work payoff.

Paul

Thanks to pyewacket947v, tyneside, Punchy Dan and Buzzer for the pics.

Interesting hubs on Elliots Foden 6x4 there. What’s that about?

They are the manually selected double reduction hubs, you turned the two ‘bobbins’ on them with a tommy bar.
