Evening Dan

It wasn’t me at Old Inns but I did go north this morning, tipped Carlisle loaded Carlisle, tipped and loaded at Perth tipped Forfar and then tipped at Turiff. Now parked up in Nairn loading at Forres in the morning them homeward bound.
Also spotted three blue and whites on the M6 above Birmingham yesterday and no 3 was Snapper himself, later on I saw two coming back south but no sign of Snapper…

Cheers Wrighty.

Evening Buzzer

Well it’s been a bit of a rough day up ere got up at 6.30am this morning to find mi Jack Russell Snook struggling to breath, rushed her to our vets who after a consultation wasn’t sure of the problem so referred us to a specialist vet clinic near Stockton on Tees. Tonight she has undergone an operation on her throat and is recovering as I type this, so as you can imagine not a lot of farming has got done today but fingers crossed she makes a full recovery.

Cheers… a very tired Wrighty.

Not a cheap job Dan but when they’re part of the family money is not an issue, hopefully she’ll be home early next week…

Sorry to here your problems with the mutt Wrighty and as you rightly say money does not come into it when they fall ill, they are unconditional and a lot of the time better company than some humans so you do your best by them, when I first had horses I used to insure them but when you get a lot it becomes uneconomical.
Bin busy today and after surveying the park where I have 21 steers the grass is now getting a bit sparse so I put a three bales of last years haylage in the feed trailer and planted it in the park, just don’t want them to go backwards and after seeing the results for Angus cattle in the markets of late I may bring forward the selling and capitalise on the apparent strong market prices, we shall see.
Hope your mutt recovers well mate and I see you had a bit more wet stuff but it avoided us down here, got the topper ont tractor ready for a bit of action hopefully next week, Buzzer.

What do you think John, down by the river ■■? for the wet days, ha !! Harvey

Hiya Buzzer I’am going to cracknor hard and looking to park up tonite ,is there a spare inch of land anywhere that way that’s not stitched up ? Cheers Dan.

Dan just clocked your post as been out today and then we had someone for Dinner tonight so a bit late getting back to you but where you are going I should not think you would have a problem finding somewhere to park up, there is an Industrial site at Marchwood which is close to where you are going and reckon you could find somewhere to park handy. Sorry I am not more helpful had it been Pompy side of Southampton you could have parked in our yard so in the memory bank in case that happens, cheers Buzzer.

Morning Buzzer

First day of semi retirement was spent gathering the fell to get our yows down to tail and dip ready for the tups, good job we did it yesterday as this morning it’s wet and windy and visibility on the tops will be very poor. Not too bad a job with plenty of staff with quad bikes and dogs, there are only four farmers who now use the fell as the rest have sold their “sheep gaits” to the owners of the grouse shooting.
Busy three days at work on Tuesday I was down at Chilcomb delivering and collecting tractors, I collected a demo tractor that had been used for ploughing on a local farm and the flint had shredded the tyres and not a cheap job replacing tractor tyres…

Cheers Wrighty.

Busy today took more haylage to the 21 steers in the park lpus one bale to the marsh boys, the grass is now fading and has not the goodness anymore plus there all getting the hard grub as I don’t want them slipping back and losing condition, watching the market prices every week to see whats going on and keeping me finger on the pulse.
Glad to see your enjoying your semi retirement Wrighty and the viewers would like to know what you like best now you are a 50/50 man also who drives the truck on the other days when your not there, Cheers Buzzer.
