work will start in december2007 to dismantle the current state of the art toll booths that were completed within the last 18 months at a cost of £8.5 million but the dismantling of the tolls will mean more delays for bridge users and the new road traffic layout bringing 5 lanes of traffic down to 2 will initially mean months of misery for bridge users and once the initial work has been completed northbound traffic will be controlled by lights . 
causing congestion northbound something that us punters from fife and anyone that has to go near the bridge thought would be sorted out with the lifting off the tolls but according to the planners the bridge congestion will be as bad as normal if not worse at peak times

the 3 bridges andy forth bridge cables holding it up are rusting closed by 2018 at a estimate to all traffic closed 2013 to lgv s think these times will be rapidly reduced the first kincardine bridge is congestion alley especially when lgv s cant get across at queensferry as for the new build at kincardine maybe another 2 years to complete but when it is finished can see all lgv being banned from queensferry crossing myself . not seen any signs of dual carriage way yet from kincardine to the m90
