Hi reeldeal, Both parts of your question are like asking the length of a piece of string.  :grimacing:

Training schools vary from the ‘cheap and cheerful’ to the ‘downright expensive.’ So I’d advise that you have a 'phone around to see what’s available, whilst remembering that neither the most expensive, nor the cheapest, is necessarily the best in terms of value.
I’d advise that you’d need to take account of the necessary travelling costs, if you decide to travel quite far to one that’s looking cheap at first sight.

As to which modules to take, I’d advise that, unless there’s a serious prospect of you driving tankers, you’d save money by leaving that module out.
I’d say you’ll need: Core, Packages and seven classes.
That leaves out explosives (Class1) and radioactives (Class 7) because they’re both very specialised and therefore expensive, plus there’s hardly any call for them TBH.

The other classes (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9) will give you an ability to carry general chemicals in boxes, drums, IBCs and cylinders to name just some of the package types that you’d be covered for. The route I’m suggesting will also cover you to drive the same chemical classes if loose loaded in containers, tippers and skips.

In the NW, we seem to be blessed with quite some choice when it comes to ADR training providers, so let your fingers do the walking as they say.

I hope this helps.
