Midnight sun - 6 am mon pay rate

Are those hours paid at sun rate or mon rate ta

Ask whoever’s paying your wages.

I would reck Sun rate stops at midnight.

who tf wants to start work at midnight Sun?

Probably someone who has got back on their hamster wheel and wants to max out the working week as far as possible

I used to see guys parked up by mid afternoon and think “I want their job” I quickly realised it’s because the poor ■■■■■ start at midnight! I’ll pass thanks.

What does your contract of employment say?

Where I’m at we get paid Sunday rate from start of shift til we finish no matter how far into Monday that is.

He may do it for a reason , as I’m working sun - thurs instead of mon - fri as it makes it easier than taking a day off for a blood test , diabetic eye test , mri scan etc etc

Ah right ok mate, I see.
Thing is even 2 am is way out my comfort zone ,I couldn’t raise the required amount of enthusiasm needed, to move my arse out of bed before 5 ish these days.
My .‘Get up and go’ has well got up and gone years ago.

Hi dozy, either they are market delivery drivers after a night run, or trampers who started at silly oclock.

when i was on general fridge work 1983 -1997 we were paid a salary ,that was ok if sometimes there was no work so you stayed at home .

Say take a Wednesday finishing a night shift around 6am, that would start a 36 hour w/end break until Thursday night then you would work your 5 days incorporating Saturday and Sunday at no extra money, as your on a salary… to be honest ,it was swings and roundabouts however we were the losers, i was never forced to do that work i did it because the work and travel suited me i think over the years i worked on that basis i was owed about a years money if we had been on hours payment,

we would have weekends or more time off if the loads were not ready so there was the difference, the companies put us on SALARY when i finished if i was paid a proper day and night rate. drivers, also we had night out allowance tax free every night we were away from base [not at home though] .it was a way of life.dbp.

He asked me ( boss ) what time I wanted to start at (4 am ) as I reasoned I’d be home and have my tea at 5 ,walk etc , but there’s obviously a miscommunication between the boss & bloke who sorts work as I’ve not done 4 yet , getting earlier & earlier , 2 , 1.30 , 3 etc , when I see boss will have words

If you start on Monday morning, I think its a safe bet you get normal rate…you not starting on Sunday :unamused:

It says in my contract , just read it , I will be paid day rate between 6am - 18.00 , and will be paid night rate between 18.00 & 6.00 , so I’d say 2 am mon start would be paid at Sunday night rate upto 6 am

If I started 11pm Sunday I would expect Sunday rate for short, 1am Monday I would expect Monday rate, unless agreed otherwise, what’s the agency say?

I’m employed , day rate 6.00 - 18.00 , night rate 18.00 - 6.00 , so I’d think I’ll get Sunday night rate any hours I start before 6 am Monday I.e 2 am mon - 6 am mon

What is jsa

Think you find it be week day night rate if you start at 2am until 6am.

JSA is for seeking a job & as you have a job you ain’t getting ■■■■…
