Taking pets in the cab

Seems like plenty of the long haul folks over here like taking pets for company.

If I took my cat with me it’d do one the moment I left the cab door/window open for a sec & I’d end up spending an hour shaking Dreamies around some RDC trying to get the thing back.

Our cat opens his own …

He is a 28 week old MaineCoon so already trying to source the one ton jumbo bags of the things as he goes mad for them …

A genuine laugh out loud from me there, raymundo

I honestly can’t think of much better than wandering about the highways and byways with a dog in tow. I can remember being weekended in the Outer Hebs, just me and the border collie I had at the time, we had a great weekend.

Our cat never travelled well, despite doing it regularly for most of its 21 years of life. It tended to be sick at some point of the journey and usually just when we were arriving back home! :unamused: Our two dogs and our parrot all travelled very well though, only the parrot left now (aged 27) and it still enjoys going ‘WHEEE’ at the top of its voice when trucks and coaches overtake us on motorways. Many firms/quarries etc don’t allow animals on site nowadays though, the same as they aren’t keen on passengers. I only took a dog once in a truck, it bit the weighbridge dispatcher when he stuck his fingers through the open window, jumped out of the window when I was at the taildoor and I had to run after him and then as an encore lept across the cab in Willenhall when it spied a cat and knocked the handbrake on which chucked me into the steering wheel and a car almost went under the back end! Left him at home after that.

Pete.

Seriously giggling out loud with that stuff

+1

btw if the dog looks rough it’s because he has just been hoovered, he actually loves that believe it or not … gets rid of a load of loose hair !
