just signed up for a agency got assessment on tuesday just wondering what gear would the assessor be looking for me to pull away in1st or 3nd. on my test class 2 always started in 3nd because it was unloaded im guessing the assessment vehicle will be unloaded so should i use 1st or 3nd or it doesn’t really matter any help would be appreciated
Ask if there is a company policy on this issue as some companies insist on 1st
I actually dont think i’ve ever used 1st gear, even when fully loaded
I’d use 2nd…
It might be an auto !!
Ask him to give you a demo … Then follow his lead …

depends on what you got but ive been using 1st to 3rd or 4th then 6th 7th and then 8th. but other motors ive driven were better at starting off in 3rd or 4th. i would ask him 
Just simply ask the assessor what their policy is, you’ve obviously got the right idea by asking the question here so apply the same with him/her

i worked for a truck rent company and even when bobtailing we were required to follow manufacture guidelines and in some truck now there a not on the window says use 1 gear when moving off
