Quick diary

shipped out empty on the sunday night Caen boat. After a couple of pints and a smooth crossing, set of for the boat factory at Cholet. loaded this sweet little 7 metre and headed back to Caen

Unable to get the night boat sat in the port and caught the morning boat.

Tipped in southampton Tues afternoon then back out empty of the Caen boat again.

Wednesday down to cholet loaded a 42 footer

4.2 wide and more importantly 4.6 high. so different route back to caen, a bit longer as no motorway allowed with a cat 2 convoy exceptional. Into caen with the pilot car Thursday morning

Unable to catch this one as the lorry deck is to low

so had to wait for the Mont St Micheal as it has a 5 metre deck.

Tipped in southampton friday morning and headed home, to get ready for next week a wide load down to the south of france and one back will try and take some pics

Nice job

nice one there mate , out of curiosity which way do they bring you into ouistreham , depending on what i load that 4.2m coming off the caen ring gets a tad too close for my liking .

It never looks 4.2 metres as you approach it…always much lower!

it does mate , its in a dodgy place as well if you come off the ring then try to move out a lane and slow down to watch the bridge , if there is a reaonable diversion might be just as easy to take that wnen im running high

To be honest i allways folllow the pilot car, we are not allowed on the ring road as part of covoy laws, so we have to head into the town centre and approach the port through a rough old industrial area

fair enough mate, thought id ask anyway

I was looking at that and thought I would never have said that was Caen. Never seen that part of it and yes, that bridge does look bloody low!!! You can see the scars in it too so I reckon it is a tight 4.2 bridge

Good diary again Boatman and good pictures too.
