New French Holiday

I have seen that Monday May 12th is a French holiday (Petecost),re-instated this year.
Can anyone confirm this?
Critically,is the usual truck ban in place ?
Responses asap, please,as I don’t want to be parked for two days.

It is a holiday monday12th May with a ban, but strange,it’s for Joan of Arc.
One mate on the bins is working normally. Two others have collections in Nantes & La Rochelle respectively & will be there at 0800 Monday.
Other drivers have been told the factories they are going to wil be closed.
Best idea! Put a sign in your windscreen saying “MY GRANDAD BURNT JEANNE OF ORLEANS” got me out of trouble many times.

Pentecost reinstated this year ? ,its always been a holiday ,only difference this year is that yesterday was Liberation day and they are taking today as holiday (at least our local Super U is) and making it a “pont” weekend.

Didn’t they try to make Pentecost a working day without pay or something to help all us oldies who didn’t die in the ‘kanicule’ (heatwave) of 2003 from dying in the next one? :open_mouth:
Didn’t work, surprise surprise, thus the ‘reinstatement’. :unamused:
So we’ve got to look after ourselves again Kerbut.

:astonished:
It is also a holiday in Belgium & Germany.
It is Whitsun which is taken 7 weeks from Easter
For us in the UK we always take it as the last Monday in May
When ever you do get to take it enjoy.
