was talking to a fella today about axle weights and he reckoned if you’ve got a 7.1t front axle you can uprate it by half a ton by fitting 315’s instead of the standard 295’s but he wasn’t sure if you had to get the wagon replated to get the extra axle weight, anyone know?

he’s right, I’ve got 315’s on the front of my Daf. You will have to fill out a form and visit a test centre to do it
(you need to check the design weight on your plate as well to make sure it can be done)
They’re not super singles though - Supersingles are much bigger

I’ve fitted 315’s to my front axle & it has been uprated to 8 tonnes
Supersingles are on 385’s
is that 8t from 7.1?
