Has anybody heard anything yet about smash on m1 this morning?
Im off work today as i had my class2 theory and have been told my
71/2 ton daf was involved

I’m going to guess you mean the 2 near leicester, if so…

again not much use, but no doubt someone on here will have access to more detailed info.
Apparently somebody ran out into the carriageway from under the bridge at Leic Forest East, a vehicle swerved to avoid and went into another.
Road has been cleared now…
but an artic has jacknifed between j19 and j20 Northbound, dleays now stand at an hour and the road will not be re opened until 17:30.
I have had guys stuck in this all day, our base is just off J21, i now have to get home on the M1 wish me luck

Was the second incident a result of the tailback from the first?
From what i can gather my truck was sat in traffic,cars in front with a car
behind and a van behind that when they where shunted by a hgv.
Seems to me like another driver not watching the road

My good lady said someone was watching over me today and i
thought nobody cared lol
I saw the second incident and it loooked nasty, the artic had jacknived with trailer sitting across all three lanes, there was also a car trapped between the trailer and what was left of your 7.5 tonner, which had been crushed between the two.
Truly horrific stuff, there were about six vehicles written off.
I am not sure how many died but my thoughts are with them.
If this was a knock on effect from the first incident which I now believe was a suicide attempt, then that person has caused more misery than they will ever know!
Truly the most selfish of things to do
