you come into work put your digi card in and it doesnt work. can you still drive it for day work so long as you do manual print outs for that day? then send the card for repair when you get back to base??
it wont work in other digi vehicles and no analouge ones are free. what are your options legally?
my tm says you can still legally use it providing you do a printout of the days work and keep it like a normaly tacho

you can legally drive for 10 days (i think its 10) but you need to ask for a replacement as soon as you can and get it sent to a DVLA centre or a vosa/highways agency for you to collect and hand in your old one when it arrives and also you would need to take a printout at the start and another at the end of your shift for every day you have driven
Apply for a replacement card within 7 days and you can still drive for 15 days. Take a printout at the start and end of a shift and endorse the printouts with your name, signature and either you digi card number or driver licence number. Keep the printouts and treat them as you would any other required printout or tacho chart and return them within the required period.
