were well into sept now,anyone know of any companys hireing drivers yet?ones ive spoken to say they are going to wait another month .
I think you will find that everyone is waiting and most of what will come as the fruit season starts around November will be nothing more than 6 month contracts.
The company next door to us has 18 vehicles and is looking at letting 3 drivers go next month if the situation does not improve, and don’t forget the Basque region is the region least affected by the economic downturn so what it must be like elsewhere you can only imagine.
Its bloody awful down here in the south. Paconsa closed down a couple of months ago (about 300 drivers + subbies gone) and even Campillo Palmera arent recruiting which is very unusual.
After looking for over 6 months I eventually got a job with a UK firm running to Spain and Gib - money is crap, but its in the bank every Friday so mustnt grumble.
