Have you had a read on this and other forums on this site about the current job situation

 Hi Bertie B’asrard, WELCOME. :grimacing:

Please don’t take this the wrong way mate, there are lots of helpful folk on here, but they might need your location before they can give you any useful suggestions. :grimacing:

Good luck in the hunt for a job.

I rang an agency this morning about a job it didn’t say anything about having to have exprience I thought great could be in with a chance here until the woman who answered said you need at least 2 years exp, I said well it doesn’t say that on your advert, she then said well we’re not allowed to put that on the adverts as it discrimination! surely after her telling me that is still the same discrimination?

dieseldave, you have a good point there mate lol I’m in St Helens Merseyside

Ahh. Not a million miles away from me then. :grimacing:

I’m not too sure about St Helens, but there’s usually something to be had in Warrington, Runcorn or Widnes, which aren’t too far from you.

Welcome and well done. Good luck on the job front.

Well done on passing your test, ive been layed off from my bricklaying job 3 weeks ago,im considering taking a hgv course, but like everything else,i think the work out there is tight in whatever trade your in.
If you dont mind me asking how old are you? and how much did the course cost?Good luck in your search for work.

welcome… and well done after much reading you may draw the conclussion that there is not a lot doing regarding work and the outlook is that we are coming to the quiet time in 6 weeks but good luck in finding work…be prepared to travel

To do medical, theory, both C and C+E tests I recommend that a trainee prepares to pay up to £3K as retests may be needed but may only need about £2K if they can get a good deal and pass all the tests first time.

2K is good, to get to ‘C’ it has cost me£1245 for everything.
To go on and do my C+E it is going to cost me another £1500. for 3 bites at the cherry. So that would be £2745 all told if I pass.
It aint cheap, but it`s worth it! :sunglasses:
S.E. Engalnd is bloody expensive.
