Hi andy, yes I do remember Ben very well good to know he is still about.Saw Mike Roe about 3 months ago in Mkt weighton were he has a garage.Never mind about screwing up the photo job often do it myself. all the best to you & your Dad, Dave J

Hi Andy, its great to see my old motor on here, ADN837R was my steed. She was the only S83 that we had at Flowers but we did have a lot of S80s both 8 leggers and artics. I put the 2 Foden badges on the bumper and when I left in 78 she had a pair of fog lamps on as well. I was with Flowers when the old man sold out to TDG in the early 70s and at first it stayed the same but gradually they started to change things after a couple of years. First to go was Jack Kilvington the old transport manager he was a real nice fella and new everyone by first name, I think that was his problem as far as TDG were concerned.
Then all the 8 leggers went and they were replaced with the 1626 Mercs, yes they had sleepers but my goodness me you needed one because it was 5 nights a week every week in the cab hotel under the new regeme.
Since I left a lot of the old hands have passed away but I have a lot of good memories of the blokes that I worked with and it was a good job with good tackle and good money.
regards doublereduction.
