euro 4 oil

bit of a long shot, but any one on the technical side of things, after 4 months of putting normal diesel in our euro 4 mans got a memo through last week saying we should be putting
CASTROL ENDURON EURO 4 LOW SAPS 10W-40
in them not your normal 10w- 40 oil weve put in everything else
any one know what the difference to normal oil is.
any one else using euro 4 mans and where are you getting it from as ive looked in all the services and cant see any
boss said theyd gone for mans for price and there egr so no hassle filling with ad -blue but now were having to mess about trying to find euro 4 oil :imp: .thanks
also been saying since we got them they use a lot of oil ,could this be reason

Try fleet factors (www.fleetfactors.co.uk) they are uk castrol agents they will get you the exact one you are asking for or i got some fuchs titan cargo maxx 10w 40 from them,or try morris lubricants (01743 232 200)for their ring free ultra 10w 40.Its low sulphur and ash content stops the particulate traps getting blocked too quickly,Its not a cheap oil to buy so shop around.

thanks, ill give nos to boss to try , id do it but im worn out stopping at every service area and garage trying to get it

We have three different lots of oil for the three different marques of wagon on our fleet (the sole Scania just gets what it’s given and like it. :stuck_out_tongue: ). It really does get silly because no-one’s ever entirely sure which oil is supposed to go in what, but it has to be done to keep the warranties valid.

No help to you I know, but at least you’re not alone.
