Closed a London Street! With Pics

Luckily it was all pre-planned  , in order to remove a load of construction equipment from the roof of a nearly completed office block, Queen Street in central London.

Ainscough crane getting himself set up, my truck in foreground.

Jibbing over the building to sling up.

Engineers getting it ready for moving.

Here it comes, one lift hoist.

There is not alot of room for manouvre here, 6 storeys high, between 2 buildings.

Bringing the hoist down into the street ready to go onto truck.

Loaded and secured, ready to go. just short of 11 ft wide.

That crane driver is very good! just so you can see here is the gap between the buildings!

nice pics mate.
some of those crane jobs, must require an immense amount of skill.
never ceases too amaze me the size of some of the mobile cranes of today.
some of them seem too have 2-4 artics, as back up motors, carrying various large bits n bobs.

trucks usually follow with extra ballast for when the crane is doing heavy or extended jib work.some of those cranes would topple over just by extending the jib out horizontal alone.
