ADR

Is it worthwhile adding modules 1 and 7 (Explosives and Radioactives) to my ADR Licence I have all the other modules etc.?

Im guessing al-qaeda are the only ones looking for drivers to transport those groups and i doubt they are that concerned if you have the ADR or not

THE answer would be yes if you are
sure that where you will be working
they require such ADR CLASSES,
It may be that if you work for a agencey
that this extra qualification of the ADR
may improve you job chances if firms
are takeing on this type of work
and require drivers,

I’ve never even heard of them, let alone been asked to transport them! But to be honest, Tescos product line is increasing by the day, go with it i say.

Exposives maybee - fireworks come under this catergory, and this time of year there is a lot of stuff comming in ready for Nov 5th and the new year. Radioactive - no, unless you work for BNFL (British Nuclear Fuels), these are the only guys who deal with this stuff

I am not up to date for the UK but Here in GERMANY the paccel firms deal in small KL 7 deliverys, and you can also without haveing KL-1 ADR HAZ: Transport up to 1ton of gunpowder under certain restrictions ,ie 2man crew telephone and a set down route etc , this is a lot of fireworks and that is how we work over here in Germany,

A point here no matter what size the load is when carrying any"" KL7""
products they must be carried under ADR-HAZ rules,

I’d say the likelihood of an agency being asked to supply a driver with a Cat 1 on his ADR ticket is about as high as the likelihood of Prince Charles mooning from his limo as he drives past Buck House.
The chance of the Cat 7 being needed via an agecy is closer to seeing Prince Harry doing likewise.

well Fred asi said in the first post, my experience is
up to date for Germany, I am and not up to date for
GB,but sorry it will happen and when it does , only those who are
qualified can carry the work out,Yes for the class1 you will be total
correct as most firms who deal with these type of explosives do
carry out their own training, AND would require certain checks
to be carried out first before useing such DRIVER, over here
you must get a statement from the police which is used as a
security type check, before being employed;BUT as stated
kl7 in any form or size is ADR-HAZ and over here is carried
by parcel firms, quite often,

and as regards AGENCEYS; What is wrong with a AGENCEY
haveing such people on their books, and also if they have
such talents on their books
doing some research and talking to firms who transport such items
and talk to them about being able to supply Drivers who are qualified
for this type of work, when they are in trouble and require a driver ,

its called finding a niche and exploiting it.
