Indeed, and in the instance we were talking about, the EU Parliament election, the combined vote for Remain between the LibDems, Greens etc. was more in both real and percentage terms than all the votes cast for the Brexit Party.
OK, it doesn’t mean much in practical terms if we leave the EU and all those MEPs are sent home, but it does give a very true indication of the overwhelming majority in the country to remain in the EU. Especially because many of the traditional Tory and Labour voters who stayed true to their respective parties, but who nevertheless preferred to remain in the EU, are not counted as Remain voters because their parties are split on the subject, unlike the LibDems and Greens which are 100% Remain.
Just a small indication to counter the thought that in a GE (yes I know it is not democratic) Farage would sweep the board. I don’t believe he would, but then who knows, the majority do not always get their way in that system, do they?

Those aren’t dirty tricks though, are they? There are many who think that to leave without a deal is the worst of all possible outcomes. If by parliamentary means they can stop that then that is perfectly legal, acceptable and even patriotic.
I don’t agree that Corbyn is popular enough even in his own party to win a GE outright, so I wouldn’t worry my head about that.
Indeed, a GE is my favoured course, and I’m no socialist. We may well end up with a hung parliament which will put a stop to Brexit, if another referendum (not my favoured course) hasn’t put a stop to it already.
