If its an Italian word then the letter ‘i’ should sound as the English ‘ee’.

Absolutely, however the French pronounce it you rarely hear an English person say “Parreee” for Paris.

Industrial Vehicle Corporation or ‘Eye vee co’, came into being Jan 1st 1975 after Magirus-Deutz and Fait had a meeting to set up a joint company. Fait had already taken over OM, Lancia of Italy and Unic of France. Of course the Iveco Ford merger came about in 1986. Franky.

PS, the name seems to be written in the English terminology as in ‘Industrial Vehicle Corporation’, rather than in a German or Italian way which would likely be those three words in a different order and spelling. Don’t know why though, maybe an agreement during the merger. Franky.

The people at IVECO pronounce it ee vey co, but I anglicise it to eye vee co as I’m not Italian

I say it like you… but at a recent event I was informed its I- VECK -OH… in Sweden I had the same experience when I was educated by one of the companies men that I should not say SCAN-E-A but should be saying SCARN-EE-R
never had a problem with ERF, Volvo or MAN though
