Hi B1 GGK,
According to THIS LINK TR is Turkey.
I hope this helps.
I clocked an MA plated tractor unit pulling a John Mann trailer out of Cherwell Valley services last week.
Sign of the times, I suppose…
Thanks for that link Dave. It has cleared up a couple of puzzles that I have had over the years.

Yer right, Ben. The local word for Brittany is “breizh” (pronounced “bray-tze”), often shortened to “bzh”
Anybody remember the Greene King sticker in the 80’s which resembled an international license plate (GK)
Stuck one on the side of the cab (as you did) in Germany.
Caused mucho scratching of heads

Hi Mothertrucker, That’s an unexpected bonus then. I’m glad it was useful.
Inselaffe and Ben9 seem to be spot-on with the “BRZ.”
If you follow the link I gave, then scroll right to the bottom, it gives a list of unofficial country identifiers including “BRZ.”
As for “BX,” there’s no mention, but IIRC Belize used something like that at some point, not sure though.
BX is the World Meteorological Organization country code for Belgium
BY anybody? Saw a whole slew in France this last week and a car with these letters was pulled over just in front of us as we came through Dover docks.
