I am currently undertaking a MA in Industrial Design at Sheffield Hallam University. At present I am involved in a project looking at long distance travellers and especially drivers such as long and short haul freight drivers.
I am aware that the drivers can be away for a number of weeks or even months and can cover a number of countries; however I am interested in knowing more about the life of the ‘truckers’ lifestyle on the road. More specifically I would like knowledge of a trucker’s average day on the road (“a day in the life of a truck driver”) and the problems he/she encounters and what they do to pass the time, whether they enjoy there chosen profession and why?
I was wondering whether you could help me out with any of this information or point me in the best direction to achieve this information. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
