T he Return to Work

Well after 31 months off work i reported at 0800hrs
to the firms office, and got told go get a cuppa coffee
and come back in about 30mins,SO after haveing a
cuppa,I went back to the office, where after a little
wait ,one of the two bosses turned up,We went into
the Confrence (interagation)room for a little talk
I was told we now have new customers and differant
goods to transport,It seems we now work completly
legaly as the news laws are begining to hurt those who
are caught breaking them.At this point the yard manager
was called in and we then started to go over the new
Drivers handbook, when this was finished i was taken
by the traing officer to one of the new trucks and
given instruction on the new TACHO (help);
Once we were finished i got sent to
pick up my PPE equipement, and also to order my new
working clothes in the firms logo,AFter this i was
told to get a Doctors certifiacte for the firm and phone
in on Tuesdayafternoon
SO tuesday was a rest day I phoned in and was told
be at work for 0800hrs wenseday,
WENSEDAY ; WENT TO THE OFFICE AT 0800
and was told which truck i was useing that day
went over and placed my disk inthe Tacho and started to
do vehicle check and also place my kit in the vehicle
after a hour my mate came along and said you
are needed in the office,so off i went down and
got the news that it was now Plan F ,it seems
a driver has called in sick, so I now have to put
my stuff in one of the firms cars and go over to
Schalke (30KMS away) and take over
Truck and roadbarrel and load in the BASF plant
by Ludwigshafen,SO off i went after putting
my kit in the car unfortunatly the TM,s info
about where the truck key was supposed to be
was false so i had to phone in and ask where
it was hidden ,after a long talk with the other
driver he returned my call and explained
the hideing place ,I put my drivers card in
and started a complete vehicle check
when this was finished, i set off for
the plant,
ON arrival ,at the plant i spoke to the
TM to confirm that nothing has changed
no, unfortunatly he had given me the wrong
blopdy number for the load so  AGAIN
i had to speak to the TM got the right no
and did the paperwork, drove to the plant gate
and herecarried out theADR-HAZ checks
for truck and driver,PASSED,weighed in
drove through the plant (15mins) TO
THE LOADING POINT:
WHEN I went into the loading
center to report for loading, they were not
impressed and wished to load me the next day
after a little talking they said yes but it would take
around three hours, so I asked if i could yes
you have it phone in, spoke to the nightshift TM
who said no problem, load and come home.
I left the plant at 2230hrs and got back in SCHALKE
at the early hours of the morning, handed the truck
and its load over to the oncomeing driver, and
drove back to the yard, where I left and went
home for 24hrs,

So much for Teutonic effiency.

The answer is great apart from the idiots who
have problems with me keeping to the speed
limits, still as i also used to exceed the speed
limit before, i suppose i can,t complain.
