Seatbelts

Hi All
I had to pick up some scaffolding from Aintree last week,
My new shiny wagon was full,
So i used the old X-reg

Problem

There was no seatbelt !
Nor
Was there any evidence one was ever fitted.

Was it still legal too drive it?
It had upto date tax etc…
So it must of passed its M.O.T

.
.

Also no radio
Actually it had a intermittent radio.
I had to aim for pot holes too get it too come back on :smiling_imp:

I believe the law says that a seat belt must be worn IF there is one fitted. So, no seat belt fitted - no wear it - seems legal IMO.

I think the fititing of seatbelts in trucks was not compulsory until some time in 2001 - I may stand corrected on that.

However if a seatbelt is fitted then it must be worn.

Thanks for the replies.

There was never a seatbelt.
Just felt strange not driving with a seatbelt on.
I always normally wear one.

I will try and avoid the old wagons from now on lol…

i feel weird wearing a seatbelt in the truck

youd think that having a cab go over with me in it mid drive would encourage me to wear it…
