Public Liability Insurance

Hi people.

Anyone know who is best for this insurance? Agency is requesting this cover for Limited Company drivers.

Thanks in advance.

Don’t know why the agency is asking for it, as it has sod all to do with them.

The only reason YOU may need it, is if you injure someone at work by your negligence and they claim from your public liability. If you don’t have it, then they come after you personally.

I had it when I had my courier van, and it was about £120 for £2m worth of cover.

Hi Ken

I am with ADR and they have so far messed payments up to me, paying me PAYE because of no information which I already gave direct to the branch. I have been told I have to have PlI. I think it is just their way of ensuring no come back on ADR. I got a quote of £95 so not bad then.

I use SimplyBusiness for my PLI - remember it’s worth comparing cover offered, I pay around £70 but that’s only £1m covered.

They gave me a quote of £95 but I also put down I am an Electrical Technician, suppose they covered that as well. May try a requote:)

Strange they’ve quoted me £125 for the same cover.
Nearly double.

I insure through Ratcliffes of Cheltenham, they specialise in small hauliers and owner drivers. Malcolm Page is the man to ask for. I can PM you the number if you want it. regards kevmac47.

Stay on PAYE. You’re no better off on self employed and probably worse off if you only get an extra quid or two an hour over PAYE rate.
