MANWEB

Not really in the main stream of road transport, but does anyone have any photos or details of the fleet of the erstwhile MANWEB (Merseyside and North Wales Electricity Board), now part of Scottish Power? I can remember their maroon tower wagons in the early - mid- 60’s before hydraulic (cherrypicker) lifts were used and the hundreds of Morris vans they had too, but not one photo to be found :frowning:

I’ve searched about looking for photo’s and the only thing I’ve come across is a photo of a preserved ex MANWEB Scammell Scarab at a rally.

Any help on this topic would be appreciated.

Cheers - RR.

Hi Rapidgem
I posted a request in the photo section for info on electricity trucks, but nothing yet, I do have a photo of a Bedford RL crewcab and there was a pic of a Douglas 6 wheel pole borer in Classic Plant and Machinery, both Manweb, I will scan and post for you.You mention Maroon as the main colour, do you know how long this was used as the RL pic i have looks very dark.
