Passed the Woolpit yard of Leggetts Transport today, and the old sign has been replaced by a Goldstar Transport one…can’t find anything in the industry news or on here about it - have Leggetts been bought out by GS? Anybody know the story?
Only cafe talk tbh but reading between the lines the Woolpit yard would be a really good fit for their trunking contracts.
When I worked as a freelance driver for them the majority of mt’s, imp & exp, for the Toyota contract, were stored at Leggetts.
Since then they’ve picked up a ■■■■ load more trunking/change over contracts with the likes of B&Q and Mastercare!
so it wouldn’t surprise me if that were the case.
sounds like wincanton… loads of trailer swaps and inter depot trunking.
Goldstar took over Leggets at 11.00am last Friday.
I’m not surprised at all this has happened it was a shambles when I worked there…if goldstar paid the 1/2 million that the original investor put in they got a bargain I feel sorry for those that work there as they were a good bunch of blokes doubt goldstar will keep them all on
