Inverter wiring

I just bought a 500w 24v inverter off ebay and was wondering the best way to wire it,
The hella socket on the scania says 360w max and wiring it straight to the anderson plug seems a bit overkill for a 500w inverter,
Its only going to be used to power my laptop and possible a dvd player and electric razor (not all at the same time)
The inverter has overload and underload protection so would it be drawing 500w of power all the time or would I be ok using the hella socket as long as I dont use anything over 360w?

inside the fusebox, you will have a pole where the main power lead comes in from the batteries, wire it to that and the main earthing strip, don’t forget to put an inline fuse in place

oh, and use a heavy duty cable
