Horrific.

While browsing through the Ex-pat British Truckers forum, I came across this driver sharing his experiences of working in Haiti.

saxonhorse:
saw a woman knocked down and killed while walking along side the road, the truck never stopped having crushed her skull, her children put some branches around her to stop other traffic from running over her even more. they were still there when i passed by a couple of hours later.

Absolutley horrific. Makes you realise how lucky we are to live and work in a so-called civilised western country. It certainly puts all the moaning about the standard of UK driving into perspective.

Quite agree, in the UK they would remove the body

So saxonhorse went past twice and did nothing to help??

Very odd though, I cannot find that post in the Ex-Pats forum as I would like to reply :unamused:

I read it that he was working in a workshop and saw the accidents happen not driving a truck but maybe nit, its a bit rambling

I had once a misfortune to be on a train who killed a pedestrian who fell under it on the platform. The line was closed for hours, the passengers were carried by buses to the next big train station when another train was waiting for us.

I sat next to some Russian gentlemen who could not understand what is all that fuzz about. He said “in Russia, they just stop the train, put the body away, clean the wheels with the pressure washer and it is on its way with only 5 minutes delay” :open_mouth:

You sure it was a meerkat and not a market?

Did you stop to compare it with anything?

hiya …i saw a clip on the news last week from IICR china. this 2 year old tot was in a market
when a pickup come round a corner knocking this little girl over… then the pickup.
drove over her tummy with both axles.the driver stopped …looked out of the window
then drove off…2 people walked past looking but never helped…a scooter rider stopped for a look
then drove off… while the tot lay on the floor another van drove over her ankles and did’nt slow
down. eventually a old lady dragged the little girl out of the road … the tot’s mum come along
grabbed the girl(by one arm) and took her to hospital. 18 people in all passed this tot and never
helped…this little tot died on friday in hospital after doctors did all they could.
all of this was caught on a street camera…the police are going to arrest the drivers…
it shows the price of a life in other countries…this poor little tot had never harmed anyone and
she was treated so cruel…i’ve posted this but feel ashamed in a way that no one helped her…

That would be a whole different kind of clip for the more, err, ‘specialist’ areas of the internet.

You ■■■■■■■■ think of the children meercats.

I ran over a cat about 13 years ago, was so gutted, I love cats, the thought of someone waking up and there beloved pet not coming home made me feel sick, it was a quick death though :frowning:

Failed, but still LMFAO

Yeah my arse is still pretty sore. Rikki is a powerful man with big hands.

Now unless you’ve got something to contribute to the topic, can you please go and play on someone else’s garden? I’ve ■■■■■-slapped you in public before and I can do it again.

had a RTA outside the weapons containment site we was running in kosovo, car hit a tree at speed. i ran to the car with others and i pulled the passenger out and tended to him, the nearest medical help was our regimental doctor and it took him 20 minutes to arrive, unfourtunatly the man died despite my efforts before ambulance got there, both of them had horrible injuries and both were stinking of alchohol and this was at 6 am in the morning…not good.

In Thailand they reckon if you run over somebody, its best to reverse back over them to make sure the job is done.
Value of life much cheaper than the cost of keeping someone disabled for many years, replacing the wages they’re now unable to earn, etc.
