Do you need a medical?

Quick question, if you drive 7.5t vehicles do you need a medical at 45 to keep your entitlement to drive them?

i would not of thought so seeing as the c1 entitlement is part of your ordainary car licence if you passed your test before 97

i may be wrong though

Dont think you need a medical, BUT I think you will need the DCPC

Just checked my licence as I have just received the renewal reminder for the LGV part of my licence, I’m 66 next month but as I have retired I will not be renewing the LGV entitlment. My last medical was 5 years ago. However I see that my C1 & C1E does not expire until 2015, the same time as my car licence and then I only have to complete a medical declaration.

Only if you passed after 1997 as it would be treated as a vocational licence.

Thanks for all the replies, it’s not for me it’s one of my drivers, was just checking and will be booking the DCPC first seven hours for all my drivers very shortly :wink:
