Diary to italy lots of pics part 1

This is a removal from storage to Belvedere,Italy which is down past Naples
on the mediteranean coast. My camera card malfunctioned which mixed all
the pics up so some pics i couldnt remember where they were taken.
Day 1.Tuesday
Loaded up the peoples car then furniture and headed for Portsmouth for
the Caen night sailing.

Day 2.Wednesday
Arrived in Caen and headed past Rouen, then to Paris, skirted round then
picked up the A6 towards Lyon.Swapped drivers just passed Paris.

Turned off the A6 onto the A40 skirting round Bourg en Bresse and parked up
for the night at Annemasse.
Day 3.Thursday
Early start and headed for Mont Blanc, heres some pics.Sorry about the
quality it was early and a bit to dark still.

Arriving at the control point and then the climb upto the tunnel.

Arriving at the tunnel entrance and heat machine stopped for a coffee, couldnt
believe there wasnt a proper service area here, just a coffee machine. :open_mouth:

Italian side of the tunnel much better scenery.Stopped here and had a coffee
and admired the view.

The road into Italy.

Not sure where these were taken.

Cracked on towards Genova and through loads of tunnels and bridges.

Made our way down past Firenze and on past Rome.
More random pics.

Made it to about half way between Rome and Naples and stopped for the night
Day 4.Friday.
We had a holiday driving ban starting at 4pm on Friday through till Monday morning,so had an early start.
Early morning mist.

Pulled in for a break.

Past Naples.

Another service area filling up.

Getting near to belvedere now heading down the coast road where we ran
into alot of roadworks building new tunnels and bridges.

Nearly at the delivery address will post the rest tomorrow.

On the way down Mont Blanc coming back into France, there is a sharp U-Turn to the left, opposite the Ski Jump.

It is at the bottom of a steep descent, it is bunded with concrete and is decorated with scraped-off paintwork from the hundreds of cars and trucks which have collided with it over the years.

That is known as “The Wall of Death”

The viaduct in that photo is the only place in the whole of France where traffic drives on the left- as you cross it, above the steelworks, traffic returning from Italy is to your right.

Looking forward to the next diary, as I’m sure you are!

whilst driving.
