Catching pigeons

Had a pigeon hit my windscreen today, dull thud and feathers everywhere. It was the third one I’ve hit in about eighteen months, all on the M1. Now previously I went about twelve years without even a near miss. Has anyone else noticed a pigeon proliferation or am I just having a bad run.

On a footnote has anyone noticed that advert in a field, M1 Southbound immediately after the M6 joins? Erection Specialists!!

Bit close to the bone that one.

We have had a couple of our trucks, had the top part of the high roof dented, due to over exuberent birds, one of the motors in question being my old one before I went in t’office.

Whatever next?

A mate of mine was running down the road from the A1 towards Garforth early one morning a few years ago and hit a Pheasant.

The Pheasant hit the grill beak 1st and went thru it - he heard a bang and then the truck just stopped dead. Puzzled he got out and found the Pheasant hanging by its beak dead, electrocuted, it had gone thru the grill and hit the main fuse box and shorted out all the truck electrics.!!!

Yep. Seen that one Limey and in the midst of skyline buildings I thought I saw what looked like a ■■■■■!!! Was I seeing things?? Anyone know?

I hit a pigeon last week on the A1 northbound about a mile past the Angel of the north, 1st I knew of it was a blur going top left to bottom right across my screen, and hitting it with the grill (about in front of my feet)
Startled the hell outa me, I looked in the mirror and saw a massive cloud of feathers.

I`m told theres over 3500 feathers on pigeon
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,…

Hit an owl once on the way to Cardiff during the wee small hours and I couldnt believe how much white powdery residue it left on the screen!!

Hard to remove it was too! :open_mouth:

I had to look twice the first couple of times I noticed it but on close inspection I think there’s little doubt.

this could be because its the pigeon racing season,i drive the pigeon lorry for the kent cosmopolitan federation and at some of the lib sites over 30.000 birds are let go within an hour…if its windy the birds fly low, hence gettin whacked by all manor of motors on on the roads …

you want to try hitting a camel
