Well yes then, I used to collect all sorts of building pipework from their big site in Erith, Kent, when I worked for a builders merchant near Dartford. Seems like a million years ago. Are they still going ?

yes but not as big nowadays, thats the last hepworth truck left, shunts up at the main site in hepworth

I gotta door pocket outta one of them shunters, makes a good bottle holder.
Erith depot shut down last year i think along with Bristol and Manchester.
They using an ex Malcolm MAN and a plain white one for shunting at Hazlehead now.

Hepworths old depot at Edlington, Near Doncaster is now Wavin OSMA and I think the transport is handled by Wincanton. Polypipe are still round the corner (Just!) Heard that they may be making drivers redundant. Glad I jumped ship when I did!

Thats because Wavin own Hepworths. We sub to Wincantons out of Hazlehead factory for them

i do indeed

hepworths depot (garage) at moira in leicestershire closed in the early 90s, followed by the pipeworks at woodville and swadlincote.they used to do a fair bit of work to europe as well as the uk,one of there x drivers works for us on a agency and he worked for them for years.mill transport from donny took over a lot of the work untill a few years ago my mrs grandad also worked for them in to his 70s before he finally retired.
