3.5t Vans

Good Morning,

I have found myself in a position where i have to run 5 transit type vans collecting mail.
Some of the jobs they have to do entail considerable daily working and driving.

As they are mobile workers, i assume the WTD (48hr week etc) needs to be adhered to, but do we have to work to Domestic hours rules, or are they unregulated?

Any advice appreciated

My understanding of that would then be they can work as long as they like, subject to working time directive, but only drive for 10 hours each day.
Would you agree? :open_mouth:

No

read the next paragraph

Daily duty
In any working day the maximum amount of duty permitted is 11 hours. A driver is exempt from the
daily duty limit (11 hours) on any working day when he does not drive.
A driver who does not drive for more than 4 hours on each day of the week is exempt from the daily
duty limit.

I see.
Would appear the boss has dropped a ballcock.

So far so good.
One of the jobs i have to do takes between 13.5 and 14 hours, with around 11 hours driving. I cannot find reference to Double Manning in the domestic regs. Does anyone know if double manning is possible, or indeed, any way i can legally get this run done.

Thanks in advance

Scott
