Never known a motor to have built in dropper, they are usually 24v systems and the “plug in” ie phone charger has its own dropper built in the plug.
In the case of 12v CB`s etc droppers need to be fitted separate or used to be

Current Mercedes and last 3 Scanias all had both 12 & 24 volt sockets.

Yes, my Magnum has 12 and 24v sockets, and I very much doubt that the 12v supply is simply taken from one battery, since this isn’t good practice. I don’t know where the dropper is, but somewhere deep within the dashboard would be my guess.

My MAN has a 24v cig socket (I think, never used it) but in the passenger footwell there is a 24v 300w and a 12v 180w hella socket.

These wagons with 24v and 12v sockets all have a dropper fitted somewhere.
In a Merc I think it’s somewhere near the radio. No idea where it would be in a Volvo.

Its in the side locker drivers side with the EBS and ECS control units, according to the wiring diagram!

cheers warcake, that’s as easy to get at
