Will leaving the EU make your life better?

I remember when Edward heath asked us if we wanted to join a trade deal with euroope…we agreed, then behind our backs, other agreements like Maastricht were signed, and others since, taking away more and more of our own governments powers. As we moved from 12 members of the union, it seemed the main contenders France and Germany, needed more trade partners, and so the stage was set to open up the block to allow more members in.so came the East Europeans, with Poland being the first…oh how excited they all were…we watched in awe as they all queued for the buses on new years eve…no one in the west, especially the UK expected or knew what to expect, especially the numbers, our own government said around 10,000…i watched as the farms started filling up with this cheap labour, where our students use to work at half term, i watched as the pubs suddenly had a polish barman/maid, polish shops sprung up, streets started to get polish cars parked…then came the Bulgarians, Romanians, Lithuanians, etc…we also got chines by the bucket load due to trade deals, wars were springing up…then came the hordes of Africans, Somalis, Eritreans, Syrians, Iranians, Iraqis, like we have never seen before, the whole of europe was being invaded…Brussels was doing nothing, except to say, all of europe has to take their share of these sand rats…some of whom were said to be isis fleeing, or the beginning of a takeover of europe, maybe scare stories, but i could see what was happening to my country, and the only way to protest, was through the ballot. I believed that voting to leave the eu was the right thing, i still do…but the morning after the election when i turned on the tv, i felt lost, did i make a mistake, what will happen now i thought…but got on with it and at least stayed with by conviction and truth. Well, many things have happened since, the more the eu gets angry with us, the more i am delighted to have made that decision. But i am sceptical as to the future, i do however believe we will come out of it ok, but not unscathed mind you, there are countries queuing up to trade with us, major countries too, we are still friends with america, china, india, all major players, and i do believe we will still be friends with the EU and the rest of europe…but at a price…thats a worry as is the the real cost ? Another worry is the trade deal we might or might not get, already the Eu is demanding a new border between northern and southern ireland…a demand about the europeans already here, and the talk of making them british citizens…of which i am against…BUT i am for making our country ours again, controlling our borders, deporting who we want, especially those who wish to harm us, and by which the european court of human rights, refused us to deport, without a fight. The next 2 years are going to be a struggle, the pound has already weakened, inflation is beginning to bite, its going to affect us a great deal, our government is still implementing cuts to the nhs, elderly care, police and council budgets, and more importantly, the vulnerable…but after all of this, i believe we can fight this, we can come out winning after all, as we have done many times before. At the moment our roads and those across europe are packed, parking is a huge issue, european countries are clamping down on drivers who want to sleep in their trucks, fine them when they do…dont be angry with them, they are doing the same job as we are, trying to improve the lifes of themselves and their families…just like we are and we did when we worked in france, belgium, Holland, germany…not in such numbers, but thats not our fault, its the fault of the EU…which i am leaving, so as our government can at least control, what they have failed to do, and theres room for improvement too, so as not to burden our families and their families in the future.

Truckyboy i hope and pray we get what you speak of, short to mid term we would expect problems, gaining our freedom was never going to be painless.

However i’m more inclined to Carry’s view, in that we are about to get bent over once again with a renamed half in half out reworking and rewording of our current EU subservience.
We have a remainer (if she has a single principle or belief, just like cameron) as PM leading a remainer tory party in govt, now presently going through a general election that isn’t needed, this is the biggy, why?
Is it to get a mandate, or is to get a full 5 year term so when the truth of the coming treachery finally dawns…and realised in its true horror first by those who refuse to allow the BBC or chanel no4’s propaganda into their homes…or are they waiting to see if they can get a coalition again so can they lay the blame for soft (read no real brexit) Brexit at the door of others, i have no doubt they have scenarios pencilled in for all eventualities.

I think the mother of all stitch ups is on the cards, and now that Farage is taking what appear to be a commentary role only, UKIP is rudderless, not as it ever meant to attain power, i’ve long been of the opinion that UKIP were allowed to flourish in order to stop the BNP who were on the rise as the only nationalist patriotic party out there and one with a membership that could not be bought, and despite being called extreme right were actually made up of the genuine working class, the forgotten class, the unwanted unless we need cannon fodder to fight our wars class.

If in 5 years time we have left the EU completely, have our exclusive fishing grounds back, have strong borders, control over immigration which isn’t a free for all for EU citizens, plus dedicated teams finding illegals and foreign criminals and kicking their arses out the door, no one will be more happy than me, and no bugger will be more shocked than me.

I suspect the real situation in 5 years will be a further divided society under ever more invasive suveillance, immigration still running at least 500,000 a year, an increasing number of whom will be coming from violent hell holes in north africa to add to further division and therefore control of an increasingly fractured society.

What the situation will be in 20 or 30 years is anyone’s guess, but it doesn’t take a vivid imagination to see what is likely.
The thing that gets me is no one was ever asked if we wanted this, our country flooded, many of us gave our answer last year, unfortunately for our rulers (who a bamboozled electorate bizarrely continue to vote for as if the next bunch of crooks will be any different) the answer was the wrong one, and they won’t ever forgive us for it, payback is due because we stood up and said no, and i suspect saying no has hastened our eventual replacement…though i wouldn’t change my vote no matter what these wide boys have planned.

The greatest irony here is that our rulers think they can control what is coming like they have us, boy are they in for a shock, it would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic, they might be rich enough to avoid what is coming, the working class whom they despise won’t be so fortunate.

I hope dearly that i’m wrong and you’re right.

Firstly it’s clear enough that May hasn’t taken out her government to strengthen Brexit because that’s why we had a referendum. The decision of which the Cons were supposedly pledged to deliver.Which just leaves the alternative. In which case the predictable script, assuming she gets a majority, will be she has to appease the remainers to ‘heal’ the divisions in the country ( more like her own Party and its vote ).In which case EEA will be a formality which the remainers will then inevitably turn back into EU later.

While assuming she loses her majority that obviously means a win win for her and her remain cronies by leaving the door open to a LabLibSNP alliance overturning the referendum decision completely with no opposition to stop them. All of which fitting the remain Con agenda which can then divert attention from itself.

While ‘if’ it was a government supposedly committed to Brexit we’d at least have had Davis as PM and we’d have been well on our way out of the EU on a hard Brexit ticket by now.Not a remainer as PM who then predictably stalled the Brexit process then equally predictably needlessly dissolved her government without delivering the Brexit referendum decision,as part of what can only possibly be an obvious plan to strengthen the position of the remain agenda.Bearing in mind that she also predictably hasn’t ruled out EEA members state within her letter to Tusk.Nor has she ever pointed out to the remainers or the electorate in general that membership of the single market is actually a deficit situation financial liability to us.In addition to which we pay for the privilege. To which the answer from the Labour rabble is more of the same let’s keep paying them for the privilege of Brit jobs for Euro workers and then moan about resulting social spending cuts at home.

As for the BNP,like UKIP,it’s difficult to trust the supposed Nationalist credentials of a Party claiming to be Nationalists. When they don’t recognise the right to self determination of others. In which case they’d respectively be expected to be English National Party or English Independence Party. With the idea of the UK being swallowed up by the EU Federation, which in turn will probably be swallowed up by a world government type dictatorship ultimately ruled by China, seems like a case of karma and be careful what you wish for.

As for UKIP I’d agree it all seems a bit strange. With that issue of anti Federalist EU but pro Federalist UK being too much of a contradiction. In addition to it seeming to deliberately shoot itself in the foot at every available opportunity.

Something stinks about the way this country is governed from it’s electoral system to the way in which the national interest is thrown away for the benefit of foreign powers and a bit of profit for those few making money out of the deal. While another rat predictably comes crawling out of the sewer in that regard. :imp:

Great to see that, unlike Sturgeon’s so called SNP,there are still some true Nationalists in Ireland.

It will all be so much better when May inevitably sells out her deluded or at best naive vote and we either trade EEA for EU.Or she loses her majority and Farron and Sturgeon etc then overturn the referendum vote with her being able to divert the blame from her Party accordingly.

The remainers can then celebrate more EU Federal rule over us and an even bigger trade deficit resulting in even more debt to sustain it and which exports Brit jobs for Euro workers and more open door immigration competing for what jobs we’ve got left and depressing wage rates. Not to mention the implications of the single transport market when taken to its logical and intended conclusion. While continuing to pay even more for the privilege as a net contributor to the scam. While bankers, who are saying how good the EU supposedly is and how we can’t manage without it,continue to live and work and/or invest their profits,in EFTA member Switzerland. While also conveniently dodging the question how did the UK’s financial services industry ever manage before we joined the scam.

As opposed to telling the EU to do one last year soon after the referendum vote on the basis of if they want a trade war then we’ll give them one.Because in a deficit situation we can only win it by bringing more jobs back here to satisfy the lager domestic market.Rather than the situation of Brit jobs for foreign workers. But that would obviously have taken a different Party with a different agenda than May and her Cons and a different electoral system to put it into power. The result being May’s obvious plan to crush the referendum decision. No surprise characterised by the same old appeasement and tacit acceptance when Juncker etc make the same old bs threats to justify and make their same old dictatorial Federal dream and nightmare for Europe a reality.

Difficult woman who intends to deliver Brexit supposedly ‘outraged’ by Juncker’s threats.Yeah right.More like a remain PM delivering a remain agenda. :imp:

Well both the chancellor and shadow chancellor have been on tv to give some clarity this morning. The standpoint going into negotiations is we are leaving the single market and customs union, and hence there will be an end to free movement. It seems both the government and opposition have accepted the view of the majority regarding the eu. I don’t really care who takes us out, or their feelings about it, just that we get out! Now cue my number one fan to come along and tell us all how everybody has it wrong

One of the more interesting developments in the Brexit saga is that Theresa May and Liam Fox have confirmed the UK will leave the customs union by finally hiring a globally respected Chief Negotiation Adviser in Crawford Falconer. He has 25 years experience at negotiating trade deals and his brief is to “develop and negotiate free trade agreements and market access deals with non-EU countries”, something that cannot be achieved if Britain were to remain in the customs union.

The point is that New Zealand offered his services to the UK the day after the referendum with the sole condition being that they were the first country to sign a trade deal with the UK - the day after we had officially left!

It’s knowing who your friends are . . .

The news reports I’ve seen were all about Hammond predictably hijacking the agenda over Davis and saying the exact opposite. While do you really think that the DUP won’t support Lab/LibDem/SNP in also wanting soft Brexit in addition to all the other remain faction among the Cons.Meanwhile feel free to trust remainer May to deliver what was voted for when it’s clear that the Con remainers are running the agenda since they lost the referendum. :unamused:

Few realise that the nefarious Lisbon Treaty requires that at a future time to be determined, ALL member countries would have to adopt EU Corpus Juris to replace their previous legal system.

That means that had we not voted Leave. the UK would eventually have been forced to give up our 1000+ year old system of English Common Law.

Juncker has said this week that if the UK accepts EU citizens can stay in the UK, or if the UK accepts any EU laws when it leaves that the UK must accept the overriding jurisdiction of the ECJ. They are desperate to ensure we do not leave even when we’ve left.

We already know what the EU is all about the problem we have is the Federalist/Stalinist tendency here at home. It’s that, not Juncker etc, that will ensure we remain lumbered with the EU Federation and everything it stands for.On that note it’s clearly a choice of remain or so called hard Brexit. With the country already effectively lost to an alliance of Immigrant self interests and Soviet style Socialists and banker class elites who’ve bet on the exploitative potential provided by EU Federal system rather than maintaining the sovereignty of the seperate European Nation States.May just predictably acting as a puppet of the latter. On that note how do you reach the conclusion of ‘when’ we ‘leave’ as opposed to,after May having predictably handed the agenda to the remainers,it will now take a miracle of biblical proportions ‘if’ we leave.
