I’m a busy fella, working full time and a single Dad so I opted for the ‘someone else arrange it for me’ option and used specialised HGV. I’m sure others will have more profound advice mate. I’m from the red rose county as well but live in Newcastle these days. I have progressed well with SHGV so far

Specialised HGV is a training broker not a HGV training company.
@ LouisM
I can’t recommend a training company in the Liverpool area but I would advise you to avoid training brokers, you’re just paying for the broker to fix you up with a training company and you’ll have no say in who you train with.

Louise I live in Warrington I did my Class 2 with Hindley Green and class 1 with Peter Smyth Training and I took pass protection with them, Or alternative look for Stobarts All in scheme which runs out from Daresbury Runcorn. And by going with stobarts you can get a job interview and I am sure they will take you on as they are always looking for drivers Goodluck Pal as to whatever you choose.
Yeah, you don’t need the photocard with you to drive / be taught to drive; but you do need to be sure that it’s actually been issued (they might have delays, lose the test paperwork, or have a question about something). By the time you can see that your entitlement has been updated on the online service or by phoning up, your photocard usually arrives the next day anyway…
