Hi Paul,
Wolverhampton Low Level Station, they turned it into a parcel concentration depot, I can remember the D series and the Commer Walk-Thru vans running out of there, by 1981/2 it was shut for good, now half of it has been demolished and a Premier Inn and pub built there and the main station building is an Indian buffet venue, all 200 yds away from were I’m sitting typing this! Cheer’s Pete

2 Ex Rank Hovis Ford D Series 13ton G.V.W. that I bought from Rank Hovis in 1981.
Despite being a registered carrier with Rank Hovis from 1979 until 1997, the Hovis
logo and company signwriting had to be removed, even though we were carrying
their product every day. HHX 310N and GYF 628N were fitted with curtainsided
bodywork by Southfields of Loughborough. I brushpainted them prior to service.

Ray Smyth.

LYK 434P was an Ex Rank Hovis Ford D1311 that I bought in 1982.
A new engine had been installed shortly before I bought it, and it
served me well for the next few years. I happened to have a tin
of Midnight Blue paint, ex Robert Baillie Transport, so LYK 434P
was brushpainted and turned out as seen here in Cleveleys. Ray Smyth

I understand the driver was Roger Oakley and he did survive. I would think the photo was taken in about 75/6. Roger was driving another D series when I joined the company in 78. He left in about 82.
