Dirty Dan:
Hi! Patric, you posted this one a couple pages back. This is an old swedish army truck and trailer. Kinda strange that it ended up down there, cos you can export old army gear from Sweden
Danne
Ey up mate,
Reckoned it was ex-Swedish military, haven’t got a clue how it ended up there mate…
Strange isnit were old things end up,saw my friends old truck on the News the other day in afganistan…
michel:
Here a Miesse tractor with Gardner engine built in Belgium.
Hiya,
Typical Gardner the road covered in oil.
thanks harry, long retired.
You’ll find that’s self preservation build in Harry, what’s covered in oil can’t rust, can it…
Hiya,
Don’t know about that I’ve had a fuel tank (diesel) rust through on a
VW car I had a while back but it was from the outside in, VW stated
most unusual never heard of it before and although the car was well
out of guarantee they put me a new tank on free en gratia nice of
them, they even assured me they they had even filtered the little
drop of fuel before returning it to the tank, I did find the young lad
who had been burdened with doing the mucky job and give him a
canny drink he was over the moon.
thanks harry, long retired.

Well, there you go mate, if that fuel tank was covered in (leaking) oil, it wouldn’t have rusted
Proper service though, don’t reckon they still do it as in the old days…
What was that canny drink, surely not Newcastle Brown ale I hope…

I’ve attended this year’s Dorset steam fair edition and I’ve shot what seems to be a million pictures… so I will shift things a bit to make it as interesting as I can for all of us to enjoy…

Interesting indeed! What’s the make of ULC 464? German?
I once had a ride with a 1948 Caterpillar D4 quite similar to your n° 118; by no ways relaxing to drive! To turn, you had to declutch and brke one side, and all levers and pedals were very reluctant to move…
Froggy55:
I wish we could only have such interesting fairs in France!
Morning Paul,
It is really a 2 day event walking round there it is that big, I done it about 11 years ago, got there about 09.30 and didn’t leave till 10 pm nearly killed me must have walked 20 miles! The area where the stalls/auto jumble is twice the size of normal shows! Cheer’s Pete

Make that a 3 day event Pete
If you think Locomotion is a grand fair, then you’ll find that the Dorset fair is indeed a bit bigger (and better organized ), next year is the 50th anniversary, so I’m already looking forward to that!
I do have to admit that it all depends on the weather as well, last year and this year we were lucky, all sunny and warm, even a bit too warm on the last day…
