If You Could Vote Again (Brexit)

Rjan:
The answer is you’d send your kids to the fronts to fight for “the nation” whose rulers are swindling you - you wouldn’t be the first, simply one of many millions who in ignorance or folly have done so before.

That’s obviously better than the type of who’d send their kids to fight for the ‘Union’/Reich/People’s Republic against the self determination of the true patriots/secessionists/rebels and any others perceived by the Socialist/Federalist Borg in whatever form,as standing in the way of the so called ‘greater good’. :unamused:

Remind us dumb old lorry drivers what it is you do for a living? And maybe tell us how old you are?

Russian spy, obviously.

Nah. We all know that Russian spies are now all billionaires living in Hampstead and none of them have any interest in social equality.

^^^^ apart from the ones living in Salisbury that is. You used to be able to spot them sitting on park benches. Dunno why they’ve all moved on now though?

Come on then T&E. I’ll give you a couple of possibilities. (In addition to the Russian spy one).

  1. Rjan is a fifty something lorry driver.
  2. Rjan is a thirty something college lecturer in political science.
Now, what effect, would either of those possibilities have on his/her posts?
One might expect those two personas to have different world* views, but would the facts they point to be any different? Would their arguments be more/less valid?
    (*not necessarily of course)

I don’t particularly care what age or occupation Rjan is/does. All I care about is that if I ever met him/her I’d willingly buy him/her a pint for being the only person in the history of the internet to out verbose Carryfast! And convincingly too.

I will add though that although Rjans posts are wordy in the extreme they actually (if you bother to read them) do present a good argument whether or not you agree, whereas Carryfasts although recognisably English rather resemble a spilled bowl of “word soup” and make very little sense.

Mm. I’d agree that applies sometimes. There’s been odd “occasions” I would disagree  . Carryfast’s straw man style can be frustrating. In his defence when you can decipher what he’s saying, occasionally there is a decent argument. Occasionally

I’ve got Muckles down as the most engaging “discussion” poster on here. Down to Earth, succinct and never superior or sesquipedalian (see what I did there  )

There you go

Much as I banter with him, Carryfast’s arguments are usually more than mere nonsense. Speaking for myself anyway, his assertions very frequently provide a useful lever against which to clarify my own thinking.

I had to look that word up!

Two good men to have around for a filibuster, I’ll grant you that! And a hot air balloon rally… :grimacing:

What will remaniacs do when it is all done and dusted ?
Back to gender issues or learning the Kuran ?Or is it going to be lost football games?
Or perhaps become typists ?Some of these paragraphs are huge :unamused:

Beetlejuice:
What will remaniacs do when it is all done and dusted ?

If it was ever going to be ‘all done and dusted’ Davis would have taken over as leader of the Cons nor May and we’d be out in the form of hard Brexit by now.

As it stands the referendum was a remain stunt to seal us in with the insurance policy of remain regardless if they somehow lost it.

It isn’t going to be done and dusted.

Look at the latest Russia scandal, talk about overegging the bloody pudding, Jesus wept, the only thing missing for the ‘‘evidence’’ was a Lada left burning but in a convenient fireproof safe found in the boot was instructions from the Kremlin personally signed by Mr Putin…if Blair had been in office no doubt this would have been arranged better.

And yes i am taking the ■■■■, because the whole country, Britain that is, has become an international laughing stock, but no bugger living here is laughing as freedom of speech and thought is being eroded at an accelerating rate, and democracy is being phased out in all but name.

This irrefutable evidence the Russians are not allowed to see…pause for cynical guffaw…is just the latest idea to make it appear safer with German leadership/dictatorship in charge of a united european army (which Clegg told us was a complete fabrication) than dare risk us being all alone with the bemusing apparition of our frankly ridiculous unelected prime minister making all the noises about going to war with the Russian bear.
We’ll be much safer with the fourth reich lads, you know it makes sense.

Putin and his mates must be ■■■■■■■ themselves with laughter, and i don’t blame him, it’s beyond taking seriously, does anyone really think if the Russians wanted some bugger knocked off they couldn’t handle it a sight more effectively and without leaving a trail of clues even a 3 year old would find just a bit too convenient.

They’ll pull any bloody strokes to keep us in, this is nothing more than the continuation of operation fear that was supposed to terrify us against voting leave…remember the last unelected PM, old matey boy Cameron, last seen disappearing back to asylum seeker central, otherwise known as the Cotswolds…oh no sorry, no asylum seekers centres there, i always get that bit confused :unamused:
Well Camerons mob suggested at one amusing point that leaving could even lead to WW3, and so it comes to pass that something has been arranged to bring memories of the wise ones words back to haunt us, presumably this operation was planned by Billy Bunter and his chums, badly, a jolly wheeze what chaps :unamused:

I too think there is reason to believe that it is a political ploy - though not by the “German dictatorship”!

They must think we are fools,Most people are Absolutely sick to death of politicians lies .Let them carry on a bit .Civil war will erupt sooner or later in any case With the ■■■■ gangs taking the ■■■■ …
I dont see us staying in the EU for anything .

Oh wait isn’t it the EU that keeps on upsetting the Russkies with it’s silly moves towards Ukraine. In addition to ever increasing belligerence on the borders of Russia’s old buffer states and dreaming up numerous other ‘sanctions’ just to pointlessly annoy the zb’s.In addition to us supporting a bunch Saudi controlled loons to bring down Assad in Syria combined with loads of convenient anti Russian propaganda.

Then we’ve got the UK establishment suddenly making a big show of kicking out a load of dodgy Russian ‘spies’ you know the same ones that they were happy to invite in.While at worse supposedly turning our streets into a no holds barred battle ground for opposing Russian gangster factions again by inviting in any of them who want to ‘live here’ because their own country just ain’t big enough for them all.If not inviting in a ready made Russian sleeper force ready and poised to poison us all. With all the implications on the housing supply with bleedin Russians now taking up UK housing stocks while our own live in b and b accomodation.

While whatever the truth, does the UK government really think that it can maintain any credibility after the Iraq WMD’s fiasco. Now in the form of trying to make a case that Russia really unleashed an all out chemical warfare attack on Wiltshire.Just to knock off one of its traitors, with this weapons grade stuff then seeming to only actually be capable of putting its victims in hospital in a stable condition, after the Iraq WMD’s fiasco.

It’s got the remainers grubby paw prints all over it.IE oh look we must maintain our full on EU alliance because only our German and East Euro mates can protect us fom the Russkies. As opposed to the zb’s dragging us into a needless fight which we can only lose bearing in mind that the Americans hold all the launch codes of our so called ‘independent nuclear deterrent’ and they ain’t going to trade NYC etc for London and Russia obviously knows it either way. :unamused:

If I could vote again, I’d not just vote Leave again, but I’d make a lot more effort at talking to my EE colleagues (who tell me they could vote, but don’t bother) thus far.

Actually, now that East-West ties have been trashed, I wouldn’t blame nor put it past Putin to send his troops currently in East Ukraine across to Kiev AFTER all, now that he’s going to be paying the diplomatic penalty ANYWAY huh? The EU have lapped up Kiev’s hatred of the old Soviet Power over it. They never forgave Moscow for Chernobyl, and they treat the East of the country “not sharing their opinion” as if the East were the Traitors, the Russians the Invaders, and there’s no evil lengths they won’t go to to bring Loving EU into a war vs their old ruling power. I’m already on record stating that IMO KIEV rather than Moscow were behind the shooting down of MH17… Done because they knew full well “Putin cannot prove he didn’t do it” and "Even if he COULD prove his innocence, the “proof” won’t be accepted by the West.

The politics here has been very dirty for a long time already. If things get up to the brink, as History says they do with alarmiong regularity - I can see some kind of “Night of Long Knives” event in the near future. Let’s just hope it’s not going to happen in THIS country. Personally, I don’t give a hoot of people like Poroshenko and Erdogan get bumped off in any “War of Assassins” that might well be coming, as par for the course “Cyber Warfare WWIII style”. Nuclear Weapons make this form of “Limited” war imo MORE likely, rather than less. If Putin walks into Kiev or even Ankara for example, - what are WE going to do about it■■?

Our political leaders can’t even drum up support for boots on the ground in the Middle East vs ISIS. There won’t be much support for any “call to arms” should Russia turn on Turkey, or “Invade” the rest of Ukraine (it was theirs to start with…)

Perhaps we should HURRY UP with Brexit now - before we get roped into this war that Theresa May seems to want to put us in the front line of - before we even start! :frowning:

Ironically the EU and NATO seems to be trying to corner Russia into a reactive position in that regard rather than Russia making any serious pre emptive moves towards the west and ‘that’ will probably be Putin’s line in the sand and final straw if NATO’s militarisation of his old East European buffers isn’t already.Which is all part of America’s stupid policy in moving away from a defence policy based on MAD to one based on ‘containment’.Which ironically actually makes it a far more dangerous and unstable situation than we faced in the Cold War.

On that note the more likely situation is that it will be the EU and NATO that rolls into Ukraine first as part of yet more EU/NATO eastward expansion and not Russia invading the place. With the whole plan of false flag operations and/or deliberately setting us up for inter factional internal Russian power struggles and/or warnings in our own back yard,by inviting them in,all being part of a softening up process for that eventual catastrophic move.

While assuming that it’s also a NATO agenda not just EU we’re effectively stuck with such stupidity at least so long as the US intends to put Europe at more risk of conventional/tactical war with Russia. To reduce the perceived risk of the US being hit in a good old fashioned Strategic Cold War of deterrents, checks and balances, and most importantly compromise to maintain the peace. In which case so long as our ‘independent’ nuclear deterrent is obviously anything but then the best bet for us would be to not only ditch the EU but also NATO and tell the US that we’re no longer prepared to be a sacrificial patsy to make Americans feel safer at home.Nor are we prepared to go along with the stupid tactic of containment up to Russia’s borders as part of that. When what’s needed is to make the East Euro buffer states a DMZ with clearly stated no EU moves on Ukraine as part of that.We also then kick the Russians out of our country and vice versa as part of that effective declaration of neutrality.Bearing in mind that they’ve got no need to ‘spy’ on us nor do we need or intend to ‘spy’ on them.

On that note the only thing that would have made me feel safer in this case would have been that and for Putin’s veiled but obvious nuclear threats to have been met head on with a bigger threat along the lines of we ( the US and UK ) have nukes too and we’re ready to use them if needed, just as Trump met those of fat rocket man’s.At which point you can bet the US and our European ‘allies’ would have shown their true colours.

While the fact that May and the US government chose a typical stance of weakness in that regard and instead went crying to our European ‘allies’ for ‘help’,having knowingly invited the so called ‘threat in’,says it all.IE just another false flag set up as part of the softening up exercise for an eventual, potential, catastrophic, needless, fight with the Russians,on Russia’s terms,as part of an EU vanity exercise and a US-Russian proxy fight. All based on the US intention that any modern day fight with Russia would be limited to European turf and settled one way or another before America gets hit directly.

I voted leave but with Teresa May the remainer conceding on virtually everything to Europe this is not the Brexit I voted for.
