The motorway is shut in both directions between J14 for Stafford and J15 Stoke-on-Trent, with reports of tailbacks up to Sandbach Services.

Looking at…
Highways and Google maps, Stoke is a car park including the A50 Westbound.
If your northbound, the M54 and A49 (A41 is looking really heavy) is my suggestion.
If your southbound…find a pub and call it a day.
Stafford services will be quiet 
Took a while J13 to J14, but it’s Friday and I’m paid by the hour.
As long as it’s fixed for me coming back up tomorrow morning, that’s all that matters.
I’ll get on to them now and tell them I’ll be on my way. .

Staffordshire Police:
Staffordshire Police Road Policing Team have said disruption could carry on for several days.
A spokesman said: “Traffic still very bad around Stafford/Stoke on Trent area - no update when M6 will reopen But Highways England suggest disruption until 26th.”
Aah, I’m sat at home with some nice cool beers. I just hope they get it repaired over the next 4 days before I go back on Tuesday.
Left Bradford at 11am got back to willenhall at 4pm not best pleased,went M56 A49/A41/M54 oh the joys,swing bridge works on the A49 didn’t help that was 50 mins on its own.

Just spoke to Highways England M6. North is open now, you must have told em properly lol.

Had a break in Bradford just got back to work on 4hrs 23 bloody hopeless,think every man and his dog was down the A49.
Overnight works going on in that area…bridge suddenly becomes “unsafe” overnight,somebody hit it with some sort of machinery is my guess
