Container height

Just a bit quicker than 50 mph :grimacing: and I’d have made it boss!

That bridge got struck AGAIN yesterday, by a mothercare trailer.

Is the diversion route miles out way for over height trailers? And drivers chancing it…

You can see that bridge from quite a long way off and the diversion is simple, less than 1/2 a mile at the most. The only thing wrong with the diversion is that the road used for the diversion ( Lancaster Ave IRRC) has speed humps so that means the driver has to slow down.

I heard on the radio that it’s struck a few times a week and during some rush hours Network Rail actually send employees down there to try and warn over height traffic.
Not sure why this bridge in particular seems to get it so bad. The signage certainly looks adequate.

In Germany, the freight forwarder , transport depot or warehouse is also responsible for fines from BAG or the police if they let you leave with not securing the load .
One day this policy will be adopted in the UK.
No internal or ratchet straps, then security won’t let you out .
