Ray Smyth.

This 1959 Daimler, 108 JTD was new to Lancashire United Transport. I think the fleetname looks like Palmer,
and it could be in Carlisle, because the Ribble Leyland Leopard is heading to Dalston, about 4 miles from
the centre of the city. The bodywork is by Northern Counties from Wigan.

Yes Ray Alan Palmer trading as Palmer of Carlisle, a member Blair & Palmer family of Carlisle ran that LUT Daimler on a works contract to RAF 14 MU at Kingmoor Carlisle. Alan passed away in Romania about 8 or 9 weeks ago.
14 MU was a huge RAF stores complex parts of which adjoined the 1960s state of the art computerised Kingmoor Railway marshaling yard which did not work on frosty nights. Ribble Carlisle (Corporation Rd depot) had a contract to run marshalling yard staff from the city to the site on three shifts, regular buses used were Saro bodied Tiger Cubs and Leyland MCW Olympic 274 which could certainly motor, I drove these buses frequently 1963-64.

Hi Gerald, Thank you for your comments about the Alan Palmer Ex L.U.T. Daimler. Because of its colour, I imagine
quite a few people would assume it was a Ribble bus. Cheers, Ray.

I remember this Bedford 20 seat coach when it was new to Eavesway Coaches in 1968/69.
In the 1970s, HEK 88G passed to Grayway coaches where I understand it is still there today.
The bodywork of this 20 seater is by Plaxton of Scarborough. Eavesway Coaches do a lot of
specialist work for cruise ship operators, and regularly transport holidaymakers to Southampton
to embark on the cruise ships.

cruiseliner passengers from throughout the U.K. to and from the cruise ships at Southampton.

Currently using buses to travel around the South American continent. The average price for a 12hr over night trip is 30pounds and for that you travel in luxury. Here’s some photos of the buses down here

More likely to be either M5 or M6 Midlands. Wimbush was a Birmingham bakery.

Not sure if GMP used Jags to be fair i just thought the bottom end of windy hill eastbound

Wigan Corporation fleet number 15 in Market Place in the centre of Wigan.
The Leyland PD2 is on route number 8, a 3 mile trip to the north toward
Chorley. I think the picture is late 1960s, this batch of Leyland bodied
61 seaters, dating back to about 1953, had all gone by 1970.
The local council Bedford TK road sweeper, in its green livery suggests the 1960s.

Gingerfold is correct,it is the M6, though the exact location is long forgotten.
Have a good 'un,!!

Ray , This is what I would call a proper double decker a PD2/12 with Leyland’s ultimate bodywork. There was never a better looking body design on a perfect chassis.
Cheers, Leyland 600

+1

Mind you, the Leyland body sat well on the earlier PD1 chassis too, as witness this East Kent example  . Robert

A Ribble Leyland PD2, fleet number 1424, on route 331, Liverpool to Blackburn, seen on the A 59 at Burscough.
The bus has just passed over the Leeds & Liverpool canal, The Old Packet House is still there, and used to be
a Threlfalls Brewery public house.

Wigan Corporation Leyland PD2 with bodywork by Massey.
The bus is seen at the Melverley Street depot,

A former Wigan Corporation Leyland PD2 with Massey bodywork,
now in the fleet of Widnes Corporation.

Dolly Parton used to travel on this coach. :sunglasses:
