Audio book info

Stehinch:
Audible, I use it all the time, and the books I can’t find on there I generally can’t find anywhere in audio format legally or …
YouTube/YTmusic, also get used. Re the comments about the screen, if you pay for premium you remove all the adverts and you can close the screen. Ice got mock the week in the background while typing this, it’s about £9a month I think

I just stream stuff from normal Youtube and it’s free and then I either chuck my phone in my bag or cover it with my jacket whist I listen
to it through media centre in vehicle. Sod paying £9 a month, I’m too stingy! Lol

All us lot streaming from Youtube, podcasts or whatever else are committing an offence anyway, and I doubt it’d make any difference
whether your screen was locked with the premium version, or wide open… you’re STILL streaming data and it’d still be an offence!

I’m a bit of a pudding with technology, my way before I retired in 2012!! Was to go to the local Library, I would get out as many audio discs as I could and use the cd player , remember them■■?  I often copied them onto CD discs so I cou!d listen to them anytime and just return the originals to the library.
Personally I would think carefully about using the phone for listening, to my mind it’s not worth 6points on my licence.Regards Kev.

the m1 fedex dude got reamed partly with being on Bluetooth gobbing to his mate for the previous hour,
your receiving data hence mobile use when driving.
is that not correct in the by the letter of the law world of holymoly drivers nowadays?,or am i wrong,(again)

I see what you’re saying, doggy, but then the judge says this…

"Turning to Wagstaff, he said: “You had between nine and 11 second to see the vehicles ahead had you not been so distracted by using the phone, albeit on Bluetooth.”
independent.co.uk/news/uk/c … 71186.html
It’s that “albeit on Bluetooth” that makes me think he wasn’t prosecuted for that although it was a contributing factor. He got put away for careless driving.
Whether you can be done for dangerous/careless driving if you don’t cause an accident while using Bluetooth for a chat? I dunno, but I don’t think so.

Using a device for communication. Is streaming an audio book communicating? Depends what the definition is, really. Me, personally, thinks no, it isn’t, no more than listening to the radio is communicating. And the important bit is you’re not using a hand held device.

If you are going to use YT for the books, just download the audio using this en.savefrom.net/1-how-to-downlo … ube-video/
lots of other websites will do the same, downloads really quick as direct from youtube.

share the link on youtube, insert the link into the box choose the type to save.

playback at your leisure offline.

Really depends what you are into mate. Audiobooks sound great but honestly true crime podcasts are where its at.

I use spotify for the majority of my music and podcasts and then tune in radio app for radio stations from all over the world.

If you are fed up with Radio stations playing rubbish then get Spotify for your phone and download music into playlists. I know longer endure public radio and instead listen to music that I like all day long.

You know when you’re really into something and it then becomes a job? An enjoyable job, sure, but still a job?
That’s me and music.
Coupled with the fact that I am a deaf twa…sorry, hearing impaired (Nearly, Reef, nearly  ) and wear two hearing aids and the sound is shi ( )
I try and listen to any talk radio station I can find.
I gave up totally on radio in the cab about 3 months ago. I could not find any station that wasn;t talking about bloody brexit.
First job in the morning, turn radio off. Not interested.
