Quarantine exemption- do i qualify?

Hi guys, i was due to fly to Poland next week for 4 days but they just removed my country from air bridge list anyway Specialist technical workers - goods are exempt from self isolation and as i work for ASDA chilled distribution do i qualify for that exemption?

Read this … gov.uk/government/publicati … rder-rules

In a word - No. The exemption is for people who are travelling as a requirement of their job. I don’t think working in a UK warehouse requires overseas travel…?

It’s all just a complete load of ■■■■■■■■, ignore it. If there was anywhere you would be likely to catch it, it would be at work, but somehow it all becomes a lot less important if you are earning money for The Man.

Enjoy your trip.

In a word, No.
Asda will not let you back to work for 14 days after you return. Also, as the government have put the quarantine on before you go you will not get paid for the 14 days quarantine either. If you had been out there now you would have got 2 weeks full sick pay.
Got to ask yourself, is 4 days away worth losing 2 weeks wages and being confined to the house for a fortnight?

Or alternatively ask yourself if you can financially afford the above scenario. If the answer is yes then simply accept that some things in life are more important than work.

I doubt that anyone in history when on their deathbed has ever said “I wish I’d worked more”.

As Maoster says.

Always find it funny those that chase the absolute last pound. I used to be like that. Now I dont need to be I find it really grinds my employers gears when I say no to “just nipping here” or “popping over there” which pleases me so much.

On subject, no you job at ASDA does not spare you. Its not an international journey.

I think he means that driving for ASDA does not involve an international journey.

Its not chasing the extra pound for me, its the having to spend 2 weeks stuck indoors now the weather is pants, having to get shopping delivered etc. cant even do stuff around the house because you cant even nip down to B&Q or the local hardware store.

I cut my holiday to Crete short to avoid quarantine, as it came on when I was already out there I would have been paid for it but we decided we preferred to have the choice if we want to pop out and grab some bits or take the mutt for a walk, not be stuck home like prisoners for 2 weeks.

In a word NO a Friend of mine who works for Asda in a warehouse had NO symptoms, tested negative,BUT because his wife had to isolate they laid him off as a precaution.

Ah - my bad. Sorry. Thought it was a strange assertion to make,!

Agree 110% but you’ll have the hysterical sheeple on here getting their tampons in a twist saying it’s actions like that that are killing people, baah
