14.6m trailers - what’s the point?

I don’t know why we moved up from 28’ two axle Four in Line Trailers, more than adequate. Then some clever bugger decided to add 5 feet to 33’ and used twice as many wheels and tyres.

Someone decided they could carry 2 x 20’ boxes if they tagged a bit on the front and a bit on the back, so now we have 40’ trailers.

Like the farmers & tipper operators with greedy boards, general hauliers wanted more. From loose sacks to 16 pallets to 24, those pesky foreigners built pallets which would fit 3 abreast and hold 33/66 on a standard trailer, 66 pallets, it would make more sense if they could get another 6 pallets on.

Let’s run a 14.6 trailer to carry 72 euros to make more euros.
