Ref. the lorry in the background,it looks like a Fordson as suggested, and IIRC it was the F7 model.It had the side valve V8 engine of 3.7 litres.I stand to be corrected though.

It most likely would have been , in the early 50s there were a lot of Canadian Fords ( ex army ) around our way lime spreading and they had v8 engines , also ex army road rollers with the same engine . When they were supplying thousands of lorries to the forces it must have made sense to standardise production . Pilots went like stink , so the same engine was logical .
I loved the V8 Pilot. I remember some had a wonderful interior with a Bedford Cord cloth trim. I particularly recall a dark blue one with beige interior. Wonderful! And (for the period) they did go like stink|
When I look at moderns with acres if black plastic inside… And buyers seem to love it. I don´t get it at all.
