What a surreal shock I had on the sunny Sunday night of 5th August,2018 when enroute to Sheffield I passed the site of what used to be the headquarters and garages of the Yorkshire Traction Company,the famous motorcoach and bus operator,now part of the Stagecoach Group.
This site is now a housing estate! 
I already knew about this years since,and had seen some photographs of this housing
estate. BUT,it was still a weird and surreal shock seeing ordinary houses - and not motorcoaches,buses and garages - in the flesh-metal-bricks 
on this sacred (to motor vehicle enthusiasts! ) site!
The Yorkshire Traction garages were a welcome landmark for travellers coming in and out of Barnsley for decades! And when I mean decades,
I mean decades! Yorkshire Traction used the above site from 1902 to Wednesday,22nd October,2008 ! All of Yorkshire Traction’s
motorcoaches and buses were then transferred to the Wakefield Road depot.
It now currently coming to the Tenth Anniversary of the unfortunate closure of the Yorkshire Traction Garages - Headquarters,Upper Sheffield Road,
Barnsley,on Monday,22nd October,2018…

So in 1955 this Leyland Tiger PS1 was rebuilt and converted in to a double decker omnibus,its chassis was renumbered,it was re-registered,
it was re-bodied of course and also given a new fleet number
