speed

can you still drive at 60mph on our mortorways as that is our limit for hgv or is 56 now the max

The speed limiter is set to 56mph but the speed limit on motorways is 60mph so if you get up to that speed, for example when freewheeling downhill then you haven’t committed a traffic offence, although it will be recorded by your tachograph as an infringement.

can i set my lorry for 60 mph

fat liar:
can i set my lorry for 60 mph

No.
Speed limiter is set and certified by an approved garage. They will set it to 90kph or less. Thats the law. They would be in the mire if its more. (Once upon a time 24 dumpy bottles of french beer would get you a bit more, but not today). If you alter any settings, change wheel sizes etc, then you could be trouble yourself.

Because we are still under the EU, you can’t yet alter the limiter despite the UK law being 60mph.

Will it change when we leave? I doubt it, but then the law becomes hypocritical.

Wonder if our wonderful freight associations and unions will lobby the government to change it…

Ken.

Quinny:
then the law becomes hypocritical

Hypocrisy?
Our politicians will be worrying about that!
